2007 was a special year for our project. 16 unheard of street cyclists given the chance to tour Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto for the act of riding track bikes on the street. This opportunity was not lost on us. Having just had my new son at home, I needed to cut the trip to 72hrs. The rest of the guys stayed for 2 weeks, riding, premiering the video, visiting friends, and this incredible country and it’s culture. When Garrett returned from that trip he brought me this gift. A rubbing from a manhole cover in Kyoto I believe. I remember being really enamored by the depth of this simple gesture. To this day some of the most important friendships I share were born from MASH. Here is to many many more.
