One last post for 2013… it has been a good year, lots of shredding both at home and abroad.

These photos are from 2 rolls I shot in the last 2 months, little mix of everything.

See you all on the other side, here’s to a rock’in 2014!!!

CUSTOM CINELLI MASH SSCX

BlickMASH_10Once in a while we receive photos of new bike builds in our inbox, but this morning’s was pretty incredible. Steve Blick knows how to have fun on and off the bike. His mountain bike was recently stolen, and quick to bounce back, he had our SSCX built up super custom. First he had Billy Griggs add internal cable routing through the down tube so Blick could have a dropper post with a bar mounted button. His goal for the build was to be able to have a Single Speed Cross bike he could commute/ride like a big BMX bike, with no need to avoid any of his local trails. Next, he linked up with friends at Chris King to produce a 120 spaced rear hub with a King freewheel. Hoping these go into production in the future. ENVE finished the wheel build, and Garrett made some custom RGB art files for the rims. Nice work! Lezyne converted the dropper mount to 31.8. It is a huge disappointment to have a bike stolen, but building something so custom must help to move forward. Looking forward to see it in person!

CHAS CHRISTIANSEN FOR GIRO

http://youtu.be/3D6gIBQKfA8

We feel lucky to live in the Bay Area, not only surrounded by the diverse landscape, but also by the bike industry that calls this area home. Giro has been an incredible support to our team both on the street and in the dirt, and we love to be included in what they are looking at right now. Chas worked closely to help develop and test a clipless shoe that functions like a legitimate performance shoe. With its intentions focused on street riding and messenger-life, this product sets a new bar for footwear that’s great both on and off the bike. Check the video for some of his thoughts behind the Republic shoe.
